Male photography · Northern Bavaria & beyond

Between light
and skin.

Portraits, the body and fine art nudes. Personal, understated and free from roles that do not feel like you.

The male body is more than its shape.

It holds stories,
tension and stillness.

I photograph men beyond poses and perfection. Sometimes direct, sometimes vulnerable, sometimes sensual — always with respect for the person in front of the camera.

Your shoot

Space to be you.

You do not need experience in front of the camera. Together, we create images in which you recognise yourself.

01

Getting to know you

We talk about your ideas, boundaries and the visual style you have in mind.

02

Shooting

Relaxed and unhurried — in a studio, at home or at a suitable location.

03

Selection

You choose your photos. The final editing stays natural and true to your character.

In front of the camera

For models.

You do not need to know how to model. Curiosity and a sense of what you would like to express are enough.

These tips help you arrive feeling relaxed. We work out everything else together during the shoot.

01 / Preparation

How do I prepare?

  • Try to get a good night’s sleep and allow enough time for the journey.
  • Arrive looking the way you feel comfortable: clean hands and nails, fresh hair and your beard styled as you prefer.
  • Bring two or three outfits you feel comfortable in. Clean, crease-free clothes keep the focus on you.
  • Feel free to send me ideas beforehand, or tell me if there is anything you do not want to show.
02 / Posing

What about my hands and gaze?

There is no single perfect pose. Small movements usually look more natural than holding one position for a long time.

  • Shift your weight onto one leg and turn your shoulders slightly.
  • Give your hands something simple to do: adjust your jacket, touch your sleeve, slip a hand loosely into a pocket or gently touch your face.
  • Look into the camera, past it or briefly downwards. Breathe out and move between shots.

I guide you and show you what works in the image.

03 / Ideas

Where can I find inspiration?

Save a few images from my portfolio, films, magazines or Instagram. You do not need a finished plan.

Tell me what draws you to them: the light, the mood, a colour or a gesture. We use that inspiration to create images that suit you, rather than simply copying a reference.

A personal object, an item of clothing or a style of music can also be a good starting point.

Important

Your boundaries matter at all times. Especially for sensual or nude photographs, we discuss beforehand what you feel comfortable with. You can change or decline an idea at any point. We agree together which images may be published.

About me

Photographer · for 10 years

Roman, photographer at Noir Lumen

I’m Roman. I especially enjoy photographing men because there are still far too few images that truly show their individual beauty and personality. Many men believe they are not photogenic. I want to show them otherwise — without dressing up as someone else, pressure to perform or the expectation of being perfect.

Before every shoot, we take time to get to know each other. Over coffee or tea, we talk about your wishes, boundaries and ideas. This creates a calm, open and trusting atmosphere in which you can be yourself.

I am based in Northern Bavaria, in the Fichtelgebirge and Upper Franconia region. For the right project, I am also happy to travel to wherever the images should be created.

Let’s create an image.
